Prt. James William Edgar Floyd

Prt. James William Edgar Floyd, formerly of the Middlesex Regiment, served with No.2 Troop of No.6 Commando, serving as Lt. John Hume-Spry’s batman and as a Troop sniper.

James was KIA (drowned) on 24th March 1945, aged 21 years.

He was the son of James Sidney and Louisa Hilda Floyd, of Ramsgate, Kent; husband of Grace Floyd, of Hove, Sussex.

James was laid to rest in the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery (Kleve, Nordrhein-Westfalen) Grave 62.A.1.

The inscription on his headstone reads:

‘God Bless Our Son.’
